Authorities say that a woman was wanted by California after she attacked another woman on a street corner and then stole her dog in broad daylight on Monday.
The victim’s Maltipoo puppy was taken by the suspect in the robbery, which took place on the east side of the 6600 block of Eastern Avenue in Bell Gardens.
Police said that the suspect pepper-sprayed the victim in the face and violently attacked the victim when she tried to return her puppy.
Police released surveillance footage from a nearby store that shows the suspect and victim engaging in a fight before the suspect punches the victim. The pair are being walked around by a passerby who doesn’t stop.

According to authorities, the victim sustained “substantial injuries” in the fight with the suspect. was treated for medical reasons.

The suspect was described by police as a female with a lighter complexion, aged 18-25, with medium build and auburn hair. According to police, she was wearing a black t shirt and red and black plaid pajama pans.

Police asked anyone with information to call Detective Tamayo at 562-806-7613 and Detective Martinez at 562-806-7618 if they recognize the suspect.
