Police say they are on the hunt for a suspect who has shot a 2-year-old boy and an older member of his family.

Indiana police are searching for 35-year-old Robbie L. Perez of Columbus, who is suspected of shooting two people including a 2-year-old boy and relative.

Indiana Police is searching for a suspect following a shooting that injured two people including a toddler late on Thursday night.

Officials said that the shooting occurred at 11:25 pm in Hope, Indiana off of 300 block Elm Street.

Deputies with the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office as well as police officers from the Hope Police Department responded Thursday night to an emergency call. According to Sheriff Chris Lane, they found a 36-year old male with gunshot injuries and a 2-year old boy.

Lane confirmed that the victims had been taken to a hospital in Indianapolis to be treated. As of Friday, their condition was unknown.

Police have identified Robbie L. Perez, 35, of Columbus as the suspect. Lane stated that preliminary investigation indicates the shooting is related to a family disagreement.

Officials said that the suspect was on the run, and should be considered dangerous and armed.

According to the sheriff, Perez may be driving a silver Chevrolet HHR, with Indiana license plates “TKQ614”, and is likely to be anywhere in the counties surrounding Bartholomew County. This includes Rush County.

The sheriff’s office stressed that this was a preliminary investigation. All persons are innocent until proven guilty by a court of laws.
