Police: Seattle shooting: Man killed, child injured

A 23-year-old man was killed and his nine-year-old nephew was wounded in a shooting Saturday in Seattle, Washington. A suspect was arrested for the shooting.

According to police, a shooting occurred in Seattle on Saturday night. It left one person dead and one child injured.

Seattle Police responded at 5:18 p.m. local to a shooting at East Pine Street and Broadway in Capitol Hill.

Officers arrived at the 1500 block Harvard Avenue to find a man aged 23 and a boy aged 9, who had both been shot. Police released a press release.

Police say that a shooting took place in Seattle on Saturday night. One person was killed and one child was injured.

Officers rendered first aid until Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived. Then, they took over.

Both the adult and child sustained serious injuries when they were taken to the hospital. The child is stable and the man died at the hospital. The adult victim is the nephew of the child.

When the shooting occurred, the child was in the front passenger seat of his uncle’s car.

According to police, a 35-year old male suspect was taken into arrest for the shooting. The police recovered a gun from the scene.

The suspect will be booked in the King County Jail.
