Publicist: Lance Reddick, star of ‘The Wire,’ has died from natural causes

"The Wire" star Lance Reddick, 60, died Friday, his publicist said.

Lance Reddick (60), was the star of “The Wire”, his publicist reported.

Around 9:30 AM, police were called to a house in Valley Village, Los Angeles, California. Authorities could not confirm the identity of the suspect.

Mia Hansen was the publicist for Reddick. She said that Reddick died suddenly and that it was due to “natural causes.” She didn’t provide any further details.

“Lance will be greatly miss. Hansen released a statement saying that he would like to respect the privacy of his family.

Reddick is best known for his role as Cedric Daniels (a Baltimore police lieutenant) in “The Wire,” an HBO series that ran from 2002 through 2008. Reddick was most recently seen as Charon in John Wick. Stars of the movie were on a press tour to promote “John Wick: Chapter 4”, ahead of its March 24 release in theaters.

Reddick is a Baltimore native who also appears in “Resident Evil,” “Godzilla vs. Kong,” “One Night In Miami” and “Godzilla vs. Kong.”

His wife Stephanie Reddick and his children Yvonne Nicole Reddick are still with him.
