Joe Tacopina, the lawyer for former President Donald Trump, stopped by NBC News in order to clarify one thing: there will not be any plea deal in Stormy Daniels’ case. There was no crime.
Trump will not accept a plea bargain in this case. In an interview with NBC News, Tacopina stated that it is unlikely to happen. “There is no crime. It’s not clear if the case will go to trial, as there are many legal issues.”
Tacopina stated that Trump was shocked when he heard about the indcitment in a second interview with ABC News.
“This is unprecedented in the country’s history. He said that he didn’t know what to expect except an arraignment. I understand that they will be closing blocks around the courthouse and shutting down the building. We’ll enter there, and then we’ll plead not guilty and start discussing motions. This will be done immediately and aggressively to determine the legal viability and validity of this case.
Tacopina stated that he expected prosecutors to “try every ounce” of publicity from the case.
He said, “The president will never be placed in handcuffs.” “As far a mugshot’s concern, perp walk? I mean, you can understand, I think they’ll try and make sure they get some joy from this by parading them.”
He continued, “But, you’re aware, I think that this is a completely different situation.” “It’s a lot of people involved here, and I don’t believe they’re going allow this circus to become as big as possible.”
