Richard Allen, an Indiana man recently charged with the murder of two young girls in 2017 Delphi, is asking for a public defense after realizing that he cannot afford one.
Indiana authorities have arrested Allen, 50, for murder in connection to the February 14, 2017 killings of Liberty German (14), and Abigail Williams (13). He is currently being held on 20 million bond.
In a handwritten note to the Carroll County Circuit Court, Allen stated that he was “at the mercy” of the court and “begging” for legal assistance from a Public Defender, or any other help available.
According to the 50-year-old murder suspect, he asked for private representation at first but “had no idea how costly it would be to just talk to someone.”

Indiana Police claim that German took pictures with her cell phone of a man crossing the railroad bridge just before she and Williams were killed. The bodies were discovered in a wooded area close to the Delphi Historic Trail on February 14th. German also captured the “down the hill” order of the killer to the pair.
