Nine people were injured in a shooting in San Francisco's Mission District on Friday night, authorities said.

Police confirmed that nine people were killed in an “isolated and targeted” shooting late at night in San Francisco’s Mission District.

San Francisco Police Department responded to an incident near 24th Street & Treat Avenue just after 9 pm (PDT) Friday, June 9, The San Francisco Police Department confirmed initially that several people had been shot and taken to hospital.

Police confirmed an hour after the original post that all nine victims are expected to live.

In a tweet, the San Francisco Police Department said: “We confirm that there are nine shooting victims. All are expected to survive.”

The authorities said that because this incident seemed to be isolated and targeted, there was no threat to the public. The police did not reveal whether the suspect is in custody.
