Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders intends to criticize “the radical left’s America in her response Tuesday to President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address, according to excerpts published before the speech.
According to Huckabee’s advance remarks, Huckabee will state that Washington taxes you and sets your hard-earned dollars on fire. However, you are hit with high gas prices and empty grocery shelves. And our children are taught hate and not love for their great country.
She will go on to say that “Everyday, we are told we must participate in their rituals and salute their flags. All while Big Tech colludes with big government to take away the most American thing — your freedom of speech.” That’s not normal. It’s absurd, and it’s wrong.
Sanders was the former press secretary of President Donald Trump. Sanders is the daughter of an ex-Arkansas governor. Mike Huckabee left the White House in 2019 and Trump encouraged Sanders to run for Governor.
The State of the Union response is a privilege and a risk. Some past attempts have been criticized.
However, politicians considered rising stars are often given the task, such as Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and former Ambassador Nikki Haley who both have potential 2024 presidential contenders. As a possible vice-presidential candidate, some have suggested Sanders — the youngest governor in the country — to be one of them.
Sanders signed an executive directive within hours of her taking office. It prohibited the use of the term “Latinx” in official state government documents. Also, she issued an order prohibiting Arkansas schools teaching critical race theory.
Huckabee will say Tuesday night, “[T]he Biden Administration seems more interested in dreamy fantasies than the hard realities Americans face every day.” “Most Americans want freedom and peace. But we are being attacked in a left-wing culture conflict we didn’t create and never wanted to wage.”
