Texas is taking steps to secure the border.
A report by Just The News states thatTexas law enforcement officers have arrested more than 317,000 illegal aliens in the U.S. since the launch of Operation Lone Star on March 2021.

A Texas National Guard soldier stationed at Laredo reported that nine individuals entered Texas illegally. They had crossed the Rio Grande River between ports of entry. Border Patrol agents were assisted by soldiers who helped to track the group through the brush.
“Oftentimes we’ll get groups that will disperse into areas like these,” 2nd Lieutenant Joshua Helton, Alpha Company Platoon leader, Task Force Center stated in a video released to educate the public. Every night is different. On weekdays we will often have multiple groups. We need to be able to maneuver and think from one point to another and also maneuver our assets to ensure we are in the right place for the next group.

More than 317,000 illegal immigrants have been apprehended in Texas since Abbott’s launch of Operation Lone Star, March 2021. More than 21,000 people have been arrested and more than 18,600 of them have been charged with felony crimes. The DPS also seized 342 million doses of lethal fentanyl, enough for everyone in the United States.
