In the wake of the Manhattan grand juror indictment concerning alleged hush-money payments to Stormy Daniels, the Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy defends Donald Trump. He’s also going after Alvin Bragg.

McCarthy stated on Twitter that Alvin Bragg had irreparably damaged our nation in his attempt to interfere with our Presidential election. He has abused our sacred system for justice against Donald Trump, as he allows violent criminals to terrorize the people. This injustice will not be tolerated by the American people. The House of Representatives will hold Alvin Bragg responsible for his extraordinary abuse of power.

Other prominent Republican voices attacked Bragg, but came out in support of Trump.

Ted Cruz, a Republican from Texas, responded that the hatred of Donald Trump by the Democrats knows no boundaries.

Former Vice President Mike Pence of Trump said to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, that the indictment was an “outrage.”

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise called it a “sham”

“Outrageous”: The New York indictment of Donald Trump is one example of extreme Democrats using government to attack their political enemies. Outrageous.”

Even Trump’s 2020 opponent Nikki Haley spoke in defense of Forty Five, saying that Bragg is clearly out for revenge and not justice.

“All I’ve seen from the New York District Attorney is that this would be something they did for political points. We know that when you are involved in political prosecutions such as this, it’s more about revenge rather than justice.
