Authorities recovered the body of the Louisiana woman who was missing following a boating incident on the Mississippi River.
The body of Rachel Hann (38), of St. Francisville was recovered from the river by search crews of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office on Thursday. Hann was missing after the 16-foot aluminum vessel she was riding in collided with a barge moving in the river near St. Francisville on May 30, authorities said.

Hann did not surface after being ejected. The boat operator was injured severely after staying in the vessel. He was taken to hospital. Investigators reported that neither occupant of the vessel wore a personal floatation device.
In a press release, wildlife & fisheries stated that Hann’s corpse was discovered a few miles away from the collision site. Her body has been turned over to West Feliciana Parish Coroner’s Office. They will determine the cause of death.
