According to a report from Breitbart News, a new Rasmussen Reports poll found that a majority of voters have less faith in public health officials and news media because of how badly they handled the pandemic.

Out of 967 likely U.S. voters polled between March 19-21, 50 percent say the way the government handled the coronavirus pandemic caused them to have less trust in public health officials. Similarly, 53 percent say they have less trust in the news media because of its pandemic coverage.
“Thirty percent (30 percent) say the government’s pandemic response caused them to have more trust in public health officials, while 18 percent say it did not have much impact,” Rasmussen Reports said of the survey, which has a margin of sampling error is ± 3 percentage points with a 95 percent level of confidence. “… Just 23 percent say the pandemic coverage made them trust the media more, while 22 percent say the coverage did not have much impact on their trust in the news media.”
Last month, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) blasted Fauci for doing irreparable damage to U.S. credibility.
“[H]e has also done more to damage the credibility of the United States government when it comes to medical and scientific advice because Dr. Fauci allowed his advice to be politicized,” Cruz said. “We know Dr. Fauci in writing asked Mark Zuckerberg at Facebook to suppress references to the origin of COVID being from a Chinese government lab.”
Cruz also unloaded on Fauci at CPAC.
“There has been no person who has done more to destroy trust in the scientific and medical community than Dr. Anthony Fauci, who told millions of Americans lies willingly, knowingly, glibly and supremely arrogantly,” Cruz told the crowd at CPAC.
