The Red Wave That Wasn’t

This morning, I awoke in London expecting to hear news about a Red Wave that had crashed onto the shores America’s woke Democrats. I was disappointed. Red Wave Talk turned out to be a complete sham. We still don’t know what the Senate’s fate will be as I write. However, we do know that the Trump-endorsed candidate for Pennsylvania was defeated by a brain-damaged Democrat. This tells us something. This tells you quite a bit.

Look at the two races that I was most concerned about — DeSantis Florida governor reelection bid and J.D. Vance’s Senate race was in Ohio — both went as I wanted. Senator Vance! I can still remember the 2016 TAC interview that broke TAC’s server, and launched J.D. His book has been a bestseller. After that, we became close friends. Here’s a conversation I had with J.D. Right after his conversion from Catholicism. J.D. is a great man, and I can attest to that. Vance is a fine man. I believe he will make a great senator. God is with him!

DeSantis’s stunning Florida victory makes him the leader of the conservative movement. It was an exciting victory speech. Here’s a good excerpt:

It is amazing to see the contrast between DeSantis who is a conservative who gets things done and wins (even for a majority Latinos). DeSantis, a conservative who actually gets things done and wins (even a majority of Latinos), was a stark contrast to Donald Trump, whose candidates did poorly on Tuesday — except for Sen.-elect Vance. In a country with high crime and high inflation, Tuesday’s underwhelming results should be a warning to conservative voters: The more that the Right supports Trump the fatmouthing loser, the further we will fall. JDV won the Ohio GOP primary with Trump’s endorsement, which I acknowledge is a good thing. However, Donald Trump is not the future of American conservatism.

There is no courage to face the serious issues head-on. Matt Walsh, Chris Rufo and Libs of Tiktok are now able to confront the scourge that is gender ideology. Except for DeSantis and others, no other Republican major has attempted to reach wokeness. It is hard to understand why. The country is crumbling, the libs have become totalitarians who want to kill children and the GOP sits there with its thumb up its nose, running on the exciting platform of “hey, we’re not like the other guys.” No, forget it. That’s over.

I ask the MAGA skeptics: What do you really want? Is there a Republican Party that cannot decisively whip the Democrats in a very favorable year? This is what you will get if Trump continues to be the leader. Many independents hate Trump, no matter what. Conservatives like myself would vote for him in 2024 to keep the Democrats from office. But in that case, I would vote knowing that I was voting for someone who is big mouth and won’t get anything done. Ron DeSantis would govern, while Trump would only talk and preen.

However, Walsh and Stuckey both say that the normie Republican Party isn’t giving people any reason to vote for it. This is enough for many of us, but it’s not enough to win big and definitely not enough to merit victory.

Ron DeSantis J.D. is the future of American political conservatism. Vance and National Conservative-style Republicans similar to them. Not MAGA. Not the Bulwark sad remnants pre-Trump GOP establishment.

This will be updated as I get information about Arizona and Georgia. We are hoping for Blake Masters and Kari lake wins. We don’t have to hear again from Stacy Abrams or Beto O’Rourke, who are terminal losers.
