Three people were taken into custody after an alleged assault on rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine in a South Florida gym last week, authorities said Thursday.

Authorities said that three people were taken into custody following the alleged assault against rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine at a South Florida gym last week .

Rafael Medina Jr. (43); Octavious Medina (23); and Anthony Maldonado (25) were all arrested and are being held, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in a statement.

They are accused of attacking and robbing the rapper. The office identified him as Daniel Hernandez.

Jail records indicate that Rafael Medina was being held under suspicion of felony battery, and Maldonado was being held under suspicion of robbery. For Octavious Medina, records were not available.

It wasn’t clear if they had lawyers to represent them.

26-year-old rapper was at LA Fitness in South Palm Beach when he was approached by a group of people and “beaten up” him, his lawyer stated.

Lance Lazzaro, a lawyer, stated in a statement that “he had cuts to his head and bruises.”

Lazzaro stated that the rapper attempted to fight back and that the group fled when employees heard the noise.

He was seen walking through the gym in a video posted to social media with blood all over his face.

In a separate statement, the sheriff’s office stated that deputies were alerted about the altercation. The rapper was then taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

6ix9ine pleaded guilty in 2019 to multiple charges of racketeering and firearms offenses. After his testimony, prosecutors were able to convict two prominent gang leaders, he was sentenced to 47 years in prison .
