After falling into a swimming pool at a daycare facility in Northern California, two children drowned while a third child was hospitalized.
At 9:05 am, police responded to the home of Happy Happy Daycare located in San Jose.
Three children, who fell into a pool in their backyard, were taken to hospital. Two were declared dead while one is expected recover. The age of the children involved on Monday was not disclosed.
The firefighters asked the police to investigate the incident, but did not reveal what caused the tragedy.

According to local media, there were five more children in the home daycare.
According to the facility’s website, it has a license and follows “all safety protocols.”
The Mercury News reported that the small family child-care establishment can care for eight children at once.
The newspaper reports that state licensing experts cited licensees of the facility last month for not following requirements to document their checks on sleeping children every 15 minutes.

The street of the residential daycare where 2 children drowned will be closed on Oct. 2, 2023.
State officials reported that the pool at the property met all requirements, including the five-foot fence, which could be seen through.
Fox News Digital contacted the owner/operator whose website states she holds a Bachelor of Science in Child Development, but received no response.
KTVU reported that the Santa Clara County District Attorney and the police department’s Homicide Unit will investigate these deaths.
