An indictment has been filed against Donald Trump, former President.
A report by Fox News states that Donald Trump, former president and 2024 candidate has been indicted after an investigation into the hush money payments to Stormy Daniels, an adult film star, following the 2016 election.

These charges stem from the $130,000 hush-money payment Michael Cohen, then Trump lawyer, made to Stormy Daniels (legal name Stephanie Clifford) in the weeks leading to the 2016 election. This was in return for Stormy’s silence regarding an alleged 2006 sexual encounter with Trump.
Trump was not charged by federal prosecutors in New York’s Southern District regarding the Stormy Daniels payment made in 2019. Cohen did however, and he was part of Cohen’s plea bargain. In 2021, the Federal Election Commission also dropped its investigation.
Bragg was appointed district attorney in January 2022. He stopped following up on Trump’s charges and suspended the investigation “indefinitely,” according one of the most senior prosecutors who quit the office to protest.
After Bragg raised doubts about whether he would pursue a case against Trump, Mark Pomerantz, and Carey Dunne were resigned.
Trump cited earlier this month reports that were based upon what he called “illegal leaked” and suggested that he might be arrested Tuesday, March 21. Trump shared the details of those reports on TRUTH Social. This led to the House Judiciary Committee intervening and requesting that Bragg testify before it.
None of the other ex-American presidents have ever been accused of a crime.
