WATCH: New York City Police Officer Injured as Suspect Rams Cars While Trying to Flee

A suspect is being sought after fleeing from police officers in New York City, including one who was injured after nearly being hit by a vehicle, authorities said

Police said that a police officer was hurt Wednesday while trying to avoid a driver who fled from authorities during a traffic check in New York City.

Around 4:55 pm, an incident took place in Midtown Manhattan near 30th Street and Park Avenue. The NYPD confirmed this to Fox News Digital. Authorities said officers were attempting to stop a black sedan, but the driver fled.

The video appears to show a driver backing up, hitting a car and then pulling ahead and hitting another vehicle. The driver backs up, and two officers quickly get out of the way.

The NYPD reported that one officer sustained injuries while trying to avoid the suspect car, but is in stable condition.

The officer’s condition was stable. The driver fled and no arrests were made. According to a police spokesperson, no shots were fired.
