According to the San Francisco Fire Department, a New Year’s party in San Francisco ended tragically for one person due to a fireworks accident during celebrations at Treasure Island.
After midnight, firefighters found someone injured after a fireworks explosion.
The first responders rendered medical aid, but the victim died at the scene.

Fox San Francisco reports that people living nearby heard an explosion followed by some screaming shortly after midnight.
