The unexpected discovery of a hand grenade in a home renovation project in , a Dallas area neighborhood was more than anyone could have imagined.
The White Settlement Police Department reported that officers responded to an emergency call shortly after 4 pm on New Year’s Day at a house under renovation. A new owner had found what appeared to be military style hand grenades.
Officers said that out of an abundance caution, nearby residents adjacent to the property have been evacuated.
Fort Worth Fire Department’s Arson and Bomb Investigations team arrived shortly thereafter and removed the device.

Police stated that their team determined the grenade contained no explosive material.
