Deputies in Florida were searching for a man who had fled the scene of an accident on Christmas Eve and caught him on video doing “dirt Angels” at a construction site.
According to a social media post by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, just after 7 p.m. deputies reported that the driver of a single-vehicle crash in Tampa fled before law enforcement arrived.
Deputies identified Eliezer Reyes Rios as the driver. They said he took off, climbed a fence and ended up in a large construction area.
Reyes Rios, while running from deputies was caught on video (by the sheriff’s Aviation Unit) laying down and making what officials called “dirt Angels.” He was also seen using his cellphone.

The pilot informed the deputies that were on the ground, “He’s just lying there casually with his arms behind him.”

He then leapt up and over the fence. However, he wasn’t quick enough and was caught by three deputies along with a K-9.

The suspect ignored his deputy’s orders and climbed a fence to enter a construction area, where the Sheriff’s Aviation Unit saw him lying in a pile dirt, making “dirt Angels.” (Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office).

Reyes Rios , according to the sheriff’s office, was arrested for several charges. These included leaving the scene after an accident, driving on a suspended or revoked licence, and trespassing at a construction site.
