Over 50 members from a Utah Mormon Congregation experienced symptoms of carbon monoxide during a weekend service.

NBC News reports that at least 54 people in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ meetinghouse located in Monroe Utah had symptoms. However, only 49 of them required medical treatment. According to the Church, a malfunction in the building’s heater system is likely to be responsible.

The church officials have said that the building will be closed until the problem is resolved.

The church released a statement saying that they are “working hard to support medical and other expenses for affected parishioners.”

According to NBC, the problems began when a girl aged 4 reported breathing difficulties, then a man began feeling sick and a third individual reported a headache upon leaving the building.

According to NBC, the Sheriff’s office of Monroe said that there were not enough ambulances for all those who reported symptoms. So, units from other counties were called.
