After a November court order, in which Judge said that he would control the video of proceedings against suspect Bryan Kohberger for student murders, Judge has now officially denied his request.

The request was made by the Spokane Washington TV station KXLY. They asked for permission from the court to film and take still pictures of Kohberger, 29, at his upcoming hearing scheduled for Jan. 26.

The judge replied “Denied” and attached a copy to his order dated Nov. 17, 2023 in which he had granted Kohberger’s request for the removal of media cameras from the Courtroom, but stated that the court would stream its proceedings itself.

The judge wrote that “the intense focus of the media on Kohberger, his every move and the negative headlines and articles that have been published, lead the Court to the conclusion that the continued photography and video coverage in the courtroom should no longer be allowed.”
