California’s green fuel regulations require that all small off-road engines manufactured after 2024, including leaf blowers and lawn mowers, produce zero emissions. The law was signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom, signed into law in 2021, does not prohibit the use existing gas-powered tools, but it begins to phase out certain electric machines by 2024.
