Last week, a California couple were married in a hospital located in Oakland after a chance encounter brought them to the facility.
On Thursday, Francisco Jeronimo Lucas had planned to marry Marcelina Pablo in a courthouse. However, Lucas was admitted unexpectedly to Wilma Chang Highland Hospital Campus.
According to FOX 2 San Francisco, the groom has been diagnosed with gastric carcinoma. Alameda Health System stated that the medical news had given the couple a “new sense of urgency”.
The hospital staff worked hard to bring an officiant to the hospital room of the groom, and they were able to marry the couple.

The moment was witnessed by family members. Flowers, balloons and cake were also available.
Lucas is quoted as saying “I am very grateful for everyone who helped us get married.” “I’m grateful to God for bringing us all together.”

Anne James, a social worker in palliative medicine at the hospital who planned the event, said that she was “so pleased” with the result.
