During Tuesday’s White House Press Briefing, Fox News’ Peter Doocy asked press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about President Biden’s recent gaffe in which he said he recently spoke with a French President who died in 1996.

Biden made the comments while warning the crowd of the dangers of a Trump presidency; he told a familiar story about a conversation he had with French President Emmanuel Macron during a G7 meeting in England.

“I sat down and I said, ‘America’s back,’” Biden recalled. “And Mitterrand from Germany – I mean from France – looked at me and said…”

Biden appeared to trail off before collecting his thoughts to finish the sentence: “Well, how long are you back for?”

Doocy asked KJP about the gaffe.

“How is President Biden ever going to convince the 3/4 of voters worried about his physical and mental health that he is okay even though in Las Vegas he told a story about recently talking to a French president who died in 1996?” Doocy asked KJP.

“I’m not even going to go down that rabbit hole with you, sir. We’re going to go ahead,” KJP dodged.

“What is the rabbit hole?” Doocy asked.

“You saw the president in Vegas, in California. You’ve seen the president in South Carolina. You saw him in Michigan. I’ll just leave it there,” Jean-Piere said.
