PRESERVING DEMS HONEST: The Whitened House Deletes Social Safety Tweet after It’s Flagged by Twitter

Twitter continues to monitor the White House.

Fox News reports that the White House deleted a Twitter tweet flagged for making false claims about Social Security. Twitter provided additional context but the tweet was eventually taken down.

The White House tweeted Tuesday that seniors are seeing the largest increase in their Social Security check in 10 year’s through President Biden.

Fox reports that the White House tweeted was accompanied by a note on Twitter that stated that many readers were adding context to the WH message. It said that the increase in Social Security payments was due to the annual cost-of-living adjustment (which is based upon the inflation rate).

Twitter adds “context” notes to tweets when they are highly rated by Twitter users. This is a point Elon Musk , Twitter’s new owner stressed Wednesday morning.

“The community notes feature in Twitter is amazing. Musk stated that Twitter’s goal is to be the best source of information on Earth.

President Biden’s last week tweet about inflation was flagged. Twitter added context.

Biden tweeted, “Let’s get the facts.” “In 2020, 55 companies made $40 billion. They also paid no federal taxes. This is what My Inflation Reduction Act does.

“The Inflation Reduction Act imposed a minimum income tax on corporations earning more than $1 billion per year,” the addition stated, with links to Reuters and government websites. The tweet context explained that only 14 of 55 corporations referred to in the tweet had earnings over $1 billion and would qualify under Biden’s new law.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R. CA) shared the story via Twitter. He added, “The White House just discovered it can’t Tweet Joe Biden’s False Statements and have the company’s old regime cover up it.”
