Fox News reports that the Jan. 6 Committee issued a subpoena for former President Donald Trump. The committee is seeking his testimony about the 2020 riots at Capitol.
From Fox News
Trump is asked to appear in a deposition on November 14th at 10 a.m. either at the U.S. Capitol, or via video conference. He will also be required to provide records about his actions on January 6, 2021, when rioters stormed Capitol building.
Trump was not asked by the committee to appear at an open hearing.
The subpoena seeks documents and communications between Trump, his aides, staff, and colleagues using Signal, an encrypted messaging application.
During its last week’s business meeting, the committee approved of the subpoena to Trump for testimony.
